Forgive and Forget
Forgive And Forget
Forgive and Forget. The three words everyone says. Most of the time the words are said after a person has inflicted pain on our fragile, glass-like hearts. But, why? Why should we forgive? Why should we forget? Why should we pretend like those person’s words or actions didn’t feel like a bullet to the heart? Why should we pretend like they didn’t just stomp on our souls: completely and utterly crushing them? Is it because life is too short? Well, then I have an answer for that. Life is too short to let the poison they purposefully gave you back in. Life is too short to be forever untrusting of that person. Life is too short for the toxicity of their chemical-like words. Forgive and Forget. It shouldn’t be so stigmatized. We should be able to not forgive and not forget and receive no judgment for it. Don’t forgive and don’t forget. Be completely unapologetic for it, because where is your apology from them? They don’t spill out apologies like they spill water at the dinner table. So don’t forgive and forget oh so easy for them. If they wanted to apologize they would. Don't forgive and don’t forget. The five words that should also be said.
